世間は冬季オリンピックで盛り上がっていますね！最近は寒さも少しずつ緩み、春の訪れを感じます。
さて、昨日は岸本石材工業株式会社さんの一回目の座談会が開催されました！
実は岸本石材工業さんの座談会は今回で初開催。お越しいただいたのは代表の岸本社長です。そんな岸本石材工業さんは、石材の総合商社。人工ではない天然の石材のみを取り扱い、生活に石を取り入れてもらうために「石のある暮らし」を提案されています。
私は石に関して全く詳しくないので、今回の座談会では初めて耳にする情報がたくさんでした！
例えば、岡山県備前市にある旧閑谷学校の石塀は、石と石の間に紙一枚通る隙間もないほど、しっかり作られているそうです。
江戸時代に作られたものとは思えないほどの技術ですよね。岸本社長はこの技術を研究し、後世に伝えていきたいと仰っていました。
知識は積極的な姿勢がないと身に付かない
石の情報がたくさん飛び交う中、学生さんからは「専門知識は何をどのくらい必要ですか？」という質問がありました。岸本社長は、「岩石学の勉強はもちろん、土木・建築、設計、冠婚葬祭…なんでも詳しくならなければなりません」と回答。
岸本石材工業さんはB to B企業です。すなわち、お客様は一般の方ではなくプロの方。「何も知らない」では、スムーズにお客様とお仕事を進めていくことは難しいですよね。
岸本社長はこう続けます。「知識は、積極的な姿勢がないと身に付きません。疑問に思ったことは進んで聞き、調べて欲しい」「恐れずに何でも経験すること！社員が失敗しないように何でもかんでも指導するのではなく、社員が失敗した時にしっかりフォローをするのが私の役目です」
生活の中にさりげなく石を取り入れてほしい
また、岸本社長からは「石に対するイメージは？」という質問があり、「石は大きくて目立つようで、主張しすぎていない」と学生さんが回答すると、岸本社長は「良い答え！当社はそれを目指して提案しています」と仰っていました。
「生活の中にさりげなく石を取り入れてもらいたい」と願う岸本社長。
「『どういう風に生活に石を取り入れるか？』『どう使ったらよいか？』をお客様から相談してもらえる企業を目指しています。」と話すと、学生さんも深く頷いていました。
会社の展望、石の魅力、社員に求めること、様々なことに話が弾んだ座談会となり、学生さんも「2時間があっという間に過ぎました」と話していました。
