10月も終盤を迎え、今年も残り2ヶ月。毎年思いますが、1年が経つのが本当に早いです…。そんな10月最後のイベント、ステラボを開催しました！
今回のテーマは「この言い方、大丈夫？不安を安心に変える敬語の超！基本講座」で、祝原が担当してレクチャーを行いました。4大学6名の学生さんにお越しいただきました！
そもそも敬語って何で必要なの？
今回参加してくれた学生さんの中に「いつもアルバイトで敬語を使っているけど、正しく使えているか不安です！」という学生さんがいました。これを読んでいる方の中にもそういう想いを抱いている方がいらっしゃるかもしれませんね。
そもそも敬語とは、公式の場（ビジネスの場）において、相手を思いやる時に用いる言葉遣いです。就活の場合は、相手＝企業さん。企業さんへ好印象を与え、「また会ってみたいな」「お話ししてみたいな」と思っていただけるためにも、敬語は使いこなして損はないツールなのです。
小学校や中学校など、今まで学ぶ機会はあったかと思いますが、敬語は使わないと忘れてしまうものです。今回は、そんな敬語について「超」基本から、一緒に勉強していきました。
相手に好印象を与える話し方
相手に好印象を与える話し方を身につけるポイントとして、ステラボでは二つのポイントを挙げさせていただきました。
ポイント① 丁寧な話し方
丁寧な話し方としてすぐ実践できることの一つに、「語尾」があります。「私は●●だとー…（思います）」のように最後まで言い切らない話し方をする人も多いです（私もこのタイプでした）。しかし、最後まで言い切ることでハキハキした印象、しっかりした印象を与えることができると思います。そして、語尾を「ですます調」に変えるだけでも、大きく印象が変わりますよね。
また、丁寧な言葉遣いをするのも大事なポイントです。「めっちゃ」「バイト」「～じゃないですか」などの若者言葉は、ビジネスの場面では使わないように気をつけましょう。緊張したり咄嗟の場面では、つい普段通りの話し方になってしまうので、普段から意識して使ってみるのが良いと思います。
ポイント② 正しい敬語
正しい敬語として、よく言われるのが「尊敬語」「謙譲語」「丁寧語」です。みなさんも授業などで聞いたことがあると思います。
- 尊敬語…相手側または話題になる第三者の行為・物事などを高めることで直接的に敬意を示す。（おっしゃる、お読みになる など）
- 謙譲語…自分側の行為・ものごとなどをへりくだって表現することで、間接的に相手側への敬意を示す。（申し上げる、ご連絡する など）
- 丁寧語…物事を相手に対して丁寧に述べる表現。（ですます、ございます、単語の頭に「お」「ご」を付ける）
これらも理屈が分かっていても使いこなすのはとても難しいです。例えば、お客様に対しては自社の先輩の動作も謙譲語を用います。（例：田中はおりません） しかし、私が新入社員の時は「田中はいらっしゃいません」と尊敬語を用いてしまい、ちぐはぐな話し方をすることがよくありました…。
大切なのは、それぞれの言葉を尊敬語・謙譲語で用いるとどんな言葉になるのか知っておくこと。よく使う言葉は覚えておくとサッと思い出して使うことができると思います。ちなみに私がよく使う敬語は例えば以下のものがあります。
- 分かりました → かしこまりました・承知いたしました
- そうですか → さようでございますか
- ●時に行きます → ●時に伺います
- ●●さんが来ます → ●●さんがいらっしゃいます
- ●●さんが言ってました → ●●さんが仰っていました
- いいですか → よろしいですか
最近は敬語の本もたくさん出版されているので、1冊手元に持っておくのもいいですし、インターネットでもすぐ調べられるので、どんどん活用してみてくださいね。
グループワークで実践的に学ぶ
今回のステラボでは、2～3名のペア・グループになって、ワークも行いました。若者言葉をビジネス用語に言い換えたり、場面を想定して言葉を敬語に言い換えたりしました。
みなさん普段使わない言葉に悪戦苦闘していましたが、真面目に積極的に取り組んでくださいました。今回のワークで分からなかった言葉はぜひ覚えて帰っていただきたいと思います。
