岡山の就活生から企業へ、気軽に質問してもらえる場を提供する『学生と企業の緩やか座談会』。今回は岡山トヨタ自動車さんの第一回の様子をお届けします！
今回お越しいただいたのは、執行役員の梶谷さんと採用担当の太田さんです。執行役員の梶谷さんは昨年に続き2回目のご参加でしたが、昨年以上に気さくで、どんな質問にも笑顔でお答えいただきました。
お客様とのつながりが強みの岡山トヨタ自動車
岡山県内で5つあるトヨタ車販売チャネルの中でも、最も古い歴史を持つ岡山トヨタ自動車さん。社内では、年に4回、通称『コミマガ』と呼ばれるコミュニティマガジンを発行されています。
このコミマガの凄いところは法人や個人のお客様にも登場していただいているところ。
登場を快く引き受けて下さる関係性やつながりが岡山トヨタの強みだという話を冒頭でお聞かせいただきました。
今回座談会に参加してくれた学生さんの中には、営業や接客に興味がある学生さんも多くいました。そのため、上の話を聞いてますます熱心に質問してくれていたように思います。今日はその中でも一部の様子をご紹介していきますね。
他社との値引き勝負には撤収！
「仕事上で印象に残ったエピソードは？」という質問で、太田さんが値引き交渉をするお客さんについてお話をしてくださいました。
入社したばかりの太田さんは、お客さんの「とにかく安く買いたい」という気持ちを受け入れるべきか悩まれたことがあるそうです。
そんな時に、先輩から「値引きはメーカーが丹精込めて作ってくれた商品の価値を下げることになる。値段を下げてでも買っていただくのではなく、その価値を理解した上でいいと思ってもらえるお客さんと長く付き合っていこう」と言われ、目が覚めた気持ちになったそうです。
これは「岡山トヨタの強みは？」という質問でも、梶谷役員も同じことを答えられていました。
岡山トヨタが大切にしているのは、お客様と共にカーライフに関わる喜びと感動を創っていくこと。そのため、他社との値引き勝負になったときは、引くことが多いのだそうです。
とにかく安く売ってお客様を増やすのではなく、強いつながりを持って長く付き合っていけるお客様を増やしていきたいという一貫した想いが感じられたお話でした。
将来は車屋を辞めてるかもね！？
さらに、岡山トヨタさんに興味津々な学生さんからは「役員面接で見ているところは？」という質問もありました。
実際に役員面接に携わっていらっしゃる梶谷さん曰く、それまでの選考で採用担当の太田さんや、その他人事の責任者の方が学生さんを見てきてくれているため、最終選考では元気さや入社後にやっていけそうかという点を重視して見られているそうです。
その中でも興味深かったのは、役員面接に同席されている梶谷社長の質問が異色なこと。
他の役員の方が履歴書などに沿った質問をされる中、梶谷社長はニコニコと穏やかに突拍子の無い質問をされるのだそうです。例えば、「今楽しい？」「今後の岡山トヨタはどうなると思う？」など。
これからの岡山トヨタは若い人に創っていって欲しい、という梶谷社長らしい質問だなあと思って聞いていたのですが、ある時、選考を受けていた学生さんからも「今後の岡山トヨタはどうなっていきますか？」という逆質問があったそうです。
そこで梶谷社長から出た答えは、「車屋辞めてるかもね」。隣にいた役員の方たちも、簡潔すぎる！と驚いたそうなのです（笑）
でもよくよくその意図を尋ねてみると、納得がいきました。
岡山トヨタ自動車は今でこそ車のディーラーですが、その事業を通して行っていきたいことは単なる車の販売ではありません。
車の販売を通して地域のお客様とつながり、培ったそのつながりを他のお客様にまたつないでいく、そんな中間地点の役割を果たしたいという意味だそうです。
現にお客さん同士をつなぐイベントとして、パラスポーツや地域マルシェの開催も企画されているそう。
事業を通じてやりたいことがある、と語られる岡山トヨタ自動車さんのその表情に、聞いている私たちもとてもワクワクしました。
参加された学生さんの感想
・何よりお客様を大切にされているところにとても魅力を感じました。
CSスタッフというくくりはなく、営業総合職としてお客様の応対や営業をされているというのに驚きました。
・「お客さまとのつながり」を大切にされていることが大変印象に残りました。「人」という視点で研修や教育をされていて、ただスキルを身に着けるだけではなく「人」としえｔ成長していくことのできる会社だと感じました。
・車屋さんの印象として、台数を多く売らないといけないと思っていたのですが、車の値段を簡単に下げてしまうのではなく、トヨタ自動車様の価値を認めてくれるお客様、「共に創る」ということをできるお客様をとても大切にし、お仕事されていることを知り、とても感銘を受けました。
