岡山・広島の企業さん11社が日替わりで登場し、社長さんとお話しできるイベントです。
今回は2021年3月6日に開催した、平林金属株式会社さんの座談会の様子をお伝えします。

平林金属さんの座談会は大人気で、すぐ満席に！
満席後もお問い合わせいただくくらいでした…感染症対策のためお断りさせていただき申し訳ありません…！

今回はこちらの不手際で時間のトラブルが生じてしまいました…。
そんな事態にも前向きに捉えてフォローしてくださった平林社長。
トラブルがあった時にどう対応するか。その後の行動が肝心です。
就活でも予期できないことに見舞われることもありますが、その後の誠意ある態度を心がけてほしいですね。
経済産業と環境のダブル受賞
平林金属さんは、工場を数拠点保有し、リサイクル業務に取り組んでいらっしゃいます。
今回印象的だった話として、『えこ便』の事業があります。
えこ便は、個人のお客様を対象にした資源集積サービスです。
CMや広告など目にしたことがある方もいらっしゃるのではないでしょうか？
えこ便は、【グッドデザイン賞・環境省グッドライフアワード特別賞・環境大臣表彰】、2020年には【経済産業大臣賞】を受賞されたそうです！
経済と環境は一見相反するものだと思います。
この両局面から受賞されることはとても稀だそうですが、「これが本来あるべき姿なのではないか」と平林社長。
私も話を聞いていて、本当にスゴいことなんだなあと感銘を受けました。
どんな学生時代を過ごしていた？
学生さんからは「学生時代に何をしておいた方がいいですか？」という質問もありました。
平林社長は学生時代を振り返って「とにかく野球に力を注いでいた」とのことでした。
学生時代にひたすら打ち込んでいた野球。練習はとにかくキツかったそうです。
今でも仕事を野球に例える癖があるとのことで、当時の練習のことを思うと大変な仕事も乗り越えられたそうです。
また平林社長は、学生時代はたくさん遊んだけど社会人になったら切り替えて完璧な社会人になれるよう努めたとのことでした。
これは他の座談会で社長さんも仰っていますが、「学生時代はその時にしかできないことを精一杯取り組み、悔いのないよう過ごしてほしい」と思います！
参加学生の感想
- 元々リサイクルに興味があった訳ではなかったのですが、作る人だけじゃなく、作って使われたものを片付ける人がいるから成り立っていると改めて感じ、すばらしいお仕事だと感じました。
- 社長が歩んできた道が今にも先にも繋がっていることから、私も残りの人生をしっかり考え、行動で示していきたいと思いました。
- 社長のお話がとてもおもしろく、時間がとても短く感じました。
- 会社のホームページで社員の皆様が社長の人柄について「熱い」「社員のことをよく気にかけてくれる」と仰っており、どんな方なのかをずっと知りたいと思い参加しました。実際に学生の頃のお話などをお聞きして、人柄の良さを実感しました。
